I have noticed in the past 2 weeks that it is becoming difficult to put the key into the driver s side door lock.
Honda civic driver side door wont lock.
My 2003 civic s driver side door wont lock with the switch or key fob.
If your lock won t work at all i think you need a new locking mechanism.

I then decide to press the button down to try and lock all the doors the other doors lock but the driver s side is still unlocked i can push the driver s side lock down manually inside as long as the door is closed.

Feb 17 2005 1 i went out side and unlocked my door went one block to the store got out and put the key in the door and it wont lock.
When leaving the vehicle and trying to lock the driver s side door while outside i have the same problem.
If you can unlock lock your door with your key but not with the remote your actuator is shot.
I have fuses under the hood and by the steering wheel the one under the hood i checked and the door lock fuse is fine and the passenger side works fine but the driver side just doesn t lock although i hear the motor doing something without success.

The lock works fine but sometimes it takes a few attempts to get the key to go completely into the door lock.

Presently when the key is inserted into the driver side door lock it will not turn at all most of the time whether the door is locked or not.
Common problem a small switch in the door lock breaks and does not activate the lock all works from the key not remote driver door recognises door not locked will unlock all doors to repair you have to replace drivers door lock or just live with the key i do.
Sometimes the key slides in just fine on.
If you attempt to take apart the door lock mechanism to replace whatever you need to replace be careful not to pull apart the key cylinder.
