If your paneling is tongue and groove place the groove.

Allow a 1 8 inch expansion gap in the corner.
Drive four finishing nails through the top edge of the panel.
Then pull the panel away from the wall for about a minute to allow the glue to develop tackiness.
Press each panel firmly into place.
Position the panel on the wall leaving a 1 4 inch space at the bottom and drive the four nails partway into the wall.
Press the panel back to the wall and it should hold very firmly.
Apply adhesive to the framing in a wavy pattern.
For best results the plaster should be applied while the pva coat is tacky but not completely dry.
Place a wood panel against the wall in a corner with the base resting on top of the baseboard.
Use masonry screws and a drill to apply one screw every 18 inches on top of the stud.

Press all over the surface to assure glue transfer to the wall.

Roll or brush the pva over the entire wall aiming for total coverage.
Brush on pva glue to prepare the wall to hold the plaster.
If the walls have no studs apply a panel adhesive to the back of the beadboard and to the wall.
Cut each sheet 1 4 inch shorter than the distance from the floor to the ceiling.
