The room is 2 03m from floorboard to ceiling plasterboard.
How much space between top of shower door and ceiling.
We re installing a sliding bathtub door.
So get as much space as possible while getting a shower door that you can get.
I have about 5 inches from the top of the shower door to the top.
Shower enclosure seem to come in 1 85m 1 9m and 1 95m.
The industry standard is 1 16 but i think even that is pushing it.
If so how much if there s little or no gap will moisture cause damage inside the tub area if there s no place for the steam to escape while one showers for example.
The one i like twyford t4 or geo6 is 1 9m.
We previously used a shower curtain.
The less you have the more concentrated the steam at the top and the more damage the steam will cause.
Do we need a gap between the top of the door and the ceiling of tub area.
The enclosure we ve ordered is 1 9m.
A minimum space of 21 inches must be planned in front of lavatory toilet bidet and tub.
Is there a minimum regulatory or recommended distance between the top of a shower enclosure and the ceiling.
Having said that my shower has just over a foot between the top of the glass and the ceiling and that seems to allow plenty of convection.
Question is will it be a problem only having a 6cm air gap above the door and side panel.
I also try to avoid using silicone whenever possible.
I never use a plastic seal there unless it is requested by the homeowner.
I think what s most important is keeping the room warm enough to reduce condensation and increase evaporation to an level that keeps things fairly dry.
The edge seal along that edge is probably there to hide the condition you are describing.
The distance between the tray and the ceiling is 1 96m.
