Place a small piece of lumber or other hard object under the door while it is open.
Lay a level so the bottom runs along the string.
If you look at the sensor on the right light lens you should find the force adjustment switch just under the light.
If it is a single garage door sensor it will probably be set on one.
On the garage door motor there will be two knobs or dials to adjust the opener and the reverse sensor.
If it s working as it should then the door should auto reverse before it comes near the wood.
If it hits the wood or it auto reverses too quickly then you ll want to adjust the sensitivity.
Adjust the garage door opener mechanism.
The sending eye amber.
Continue until the sensors are once again level.
When the green indicator light glows steadily tighten the wing nut.
Test the door with something small in the area just before the door would close.
How to adjust the safety sensors on a garage door one of the first things to check is to make sure that there is nothing in the way of the invisible sensor beam.
Check that the line of the string is level.
Loosen the receiving eye wing nut and adjust sensor until it receives the sender s beam.
Look from left to right along a straight line in between the sensors and move anything that may be in the way such as garden equipment tools boxes and the like.
If the line of the string isn t level adjust 1 or both garage door sensors by sliding the mounting bracket upward.
