Front loaders have a locking mechanism to avoid opening the door during a washing cycle but occasionally this lock will be activated accidentally. Look for the lid lock switch on the underside of the top panel and where it fits into the appliance. Inspect the door lock for damage. The door lock secures the washer door shut during operation.
