How to measure your truck bed for a tonneau cover.
Put down the tailgate and stand at the end of the bed.
Your truck bed length is determined by the distance between the inside of your tailgate and the inside of the bulkhead.
Use measure and start from the bulkhead of your truck and measure all the way to the inside edge of the tailgate.
So if your truck bed measures 76 you can go with the product listed for a 6 5 foot bed.
That s because most truck and accessory companies round off their measurements to the nearest half foot.
First up bed length.
Get the truck bed s length.
Take the measurements from where the tailgate begins until where the bed ends.
This is the first thing you need to know and for some trucks the only thing.
When you measure truck bed length you may find that the exact number does not match any lengths listed on our product pages.
Step 2 moving along your bed rail extend the measuring tape to the inside edge of the top of your tailgate.
Convert inches to feet.
Measure the distance between the bed rails starting from inside to inside of the rail.
Extend your measuring tape longways in the center of the bed to the far end up against the bulkhead.
Measure the bed length stand at the end of the bed and put down the tailgate.
Measure your truck bed length.
Take your measurement at where the bed ends and the tailgate begins.
The last measurement you will need is the length of the truck bed.
Your new tonneau cover must be an inch or half an inch less the dimensions you get here.
