How to adjust screws on sliding screen door.
The adjustment screws are on the wheel assemblies at the top or bottom of the door.
From the jamb edge.
If the door becomes even harder to open turn the screw in the opposite direction.
Adjust the door by turning the adjustment screws.
There should be a uniform gap along the bottom and top edges of the door.
To reinstall the screen door focus on the upper wheels first.
To check the adjustment stand back and look at the door from the outside.
Then turn the screws until the frame is parallel with the jamb edge.
Push them into the upper track then set the door on top of the lower track.
The wheels on the glass sliding patio door have an adjustment screw at the bot.
The screw is beside the wheels but is not the screw holding the wheels onto the door.
Most sliding glass doors contain two sets of rollers one on each side of the bottom of the door.
Turn the screw clockwise.
Regular vacuuming of the track will help keep the door sliding smoothly.
Give the screw a clockwise turn and test to see whether the door slides easier.
Turning this screw raises or lowers the roller.
If it s too low use a flat pry bar to raise the door while you turn the adjusting screw clockwise.
Locate the first screw on the sliding screen door wheel assembly.
Then raise it one roller until it lifts the door about 1 4 in.
Position the door so the frame is about 1 4 in.
Turning the screw clockwise will cause the sliding screen door to become higher as the wheels lower.
Do the same at the other end of the door.
If the side with the adjusting screw is too high causing it to bind at the top turn the screw counterclockwise.
Turning the screw counterclockwise raises the wheels on the sliding screen door.
Turn the adjustment screw counterclockwise and lower the door until it rests on the track.
The bottom of the frame should be about 1 8 in.
After a bit of adjustment the door should roll easily without rubbing on the bottom track.
Never lubricate the track however.
Turn the tension screws clockwise until the door is secure and well aligned with the strike on the frame.
You can alter the height of these rollers by accessing the adjustment screws which are set into slots on the door s outer edges perpendicular with the rollers themselves.
